Is OnlyFans legal in UK
Is OnlyFans legal in UK, for an adult creator, is not the same question as whether every post is lawful. The platform operates through Fenix International Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. Ofcom regulates it. Ofcom has not published a ban.
UK OnlyFans law, for a creator, is the Online Safety Act plus ordinary tax and consent rules. Is OnlyFans banned in the UK? No. On 27 March 2025 Ofcom fined Fenix £1.05 million for inaccurate information about age checks. A fine is not a ban.
What you still have to do
You still complete creator verification, keep consent records for anyone else in your content, and deal with HMRC yourself. The Online Safety Act page explains the age-check duties in plain language. A separate long read of the fine is not on this site yet. The Ofcom news story linked below is the source.
Questions people ask
Can I still open a creator account?
The terms still describe creator signup for adults who pass identity checks. The 2025 penalty was about information Fenix gave Ofcom, not a shutdown order.
